Chamomile Flowers (Babunaj) | Matricaria chamomilla
• Scientific Name: Matricaria chamomilla L. Chamomile Flowers are delicate dried flower heads with golden-yellow centres, pale cream petals and a naturally aromatic floral character.
• Also Known As: Chamomile Flowers, Babunaj, Babuna, German Chamomile, Wild Chamomile, Scented Mayweed, Matricaria Flower and Manzanilla.
• What It’s Known For: A naturally caffeine-free flower infusion ingredient with mild floral, apple-like, honeyed, herbaceous and gently bittersweet notes. Commonly prepared alone or blended with mint, lemongrass, rose, lavender, ginger, cinnamon, apple and citrus peel.
• How to Use: Add approximately 1–2 teaspoons of Chamomile Flowers to 200–250 ml of hot water. Cover and steep for 5–8 minutes, then strain through a fine tea strainer. Add honey or lemon according to taste.
