Camellia Flower Buds (Tea Flower Buds) | Camellia sinensis
• Scientific Name: Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze. Camellia Flower Buds are dried unopened or partially opened tea flowers with cream-coloured petals, green calyxes and a naturally delicate floral appearance.
• Also Known As: Tea Flower Buds, Camellia Buds, Tea Plant Flowers, Tea Blossoms, Camellia sinensis Flowers, Cha Hua and Dried Tea Flowers.
• What It’s Known For: Delicate flower buds with a mild floral aroma and a softly sweet, vegetal, tea-like and gently earthy flavour. Commonly prepared as a warm infusion or blended with green tea, white tea, oolong tea, jasmine, rose, mint and dried citrus peel.
• How to Use: Add approximately 1–2 teaspoons of Camellia Flower Buds to 200–250 ml of hot water. Cover and steep for 5–8 minutes, then strain. The same buds may be steeped again according to taste.
