• Scientific Name: Lycium ruthenicum Murray. Dried Black Goji Berries are small, rounded fruits with a naturally purple-black to deep black colour, wrinkled surface and light, dry texture. Lycium ruthenicum is the accepted botanical name for Black Goji.
• Also Known As: Black Wolfberry, Black Goji, Hei Gou Qi, Hei Guo Gou Qi, Black-Fruit Wolfberry, Russian Box Thorn Fruit and Dried Black Goji Fruit.
• What It’s Known For: A distinctive dried berry with mildly sweet, gently tangy, lightly earthy and herbal notes. Black Goji is especially known for producing a natural purple infusion, with the exact shade influenced by the water, temperature, steeping time and acidity.
• How to Use: Sort and rinse briefly, then add approximately 1–2 teaspoons to 200–250 ml of warm or hot water. Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes. Strain or serve with the softened berries. The berries may also be added to porridge, yogurt, granola, smoothies and fruit blends.
