• Scientific Name: Rosa × damascena Herrm. Rose Petals are delicately dried flower petals with natural crimson, burgundy, deep pink and reddish-purple shades.
• Also Known As: Damask Rose Petals, Gulab Patti, Gulab Petals, Ward Dimashqi, Gol Mohammadi, Dried Rose Petals and Culinary Rose Petals.
• What It’s Known For: Aromatic petals with sweet floral, rose-like, softly honeyed, lightly fruity and mildly astringent notes. Commonly used in flower infusions, tea blends, rose milk, syrups, gulkand, desserts, baking, chocolate, ice cream and culinary garnishing. Rose petals are widely used in products such as tea, jam, jelly, biscuits, salads, ice cream and beverages.
• How to Use: Add approximately 1–2 teaspoons to 200–250 ml of hot water. Cover and steep for 5–7 minutes, then strain. For food and drink recipes, begin with a small quantity because dried rose has a concentrated floral character.
