- BOTANICAL IDENTITY: Flax Seeds are the edible seeds of Linum usitatissimum L., an annual flowering plant in the Linaceae family. The plant is cultivated for both its seeds and the natural stem fibre traditionally used to make linen.
- ALSO KNOWN AS: Commonly called Flax Seeds, Flaxseed, Linseed, Alsi, Alasi, Tisi, Jawas, and Linum usitatissimum Seeds. Regional names vary, but flaxseed and linseed refer to the same botanical seed.
