Scientific Name: Bambusa vulgaris. Bamboo Leaves are a traditional botanical ingredient recognised by their long, slender shape, natural green colour, light texture, and mild grassy aroma. Bambusa vulgaris belongs to the bamboo group within the Poaceae family.

Also Known As: Bamboo Leaves, Bamboo Leaf, Baans Patta, Bans Ke Patte, Zhu Ye, and Awraq Al-Khayzuran.

What It’s Known For: A naturally leafy ingredient with a green to olive-green appearance, mild grassy aroma, light vegetal taste, and gently earthy or slightly bitter finish.

How to Use: Add a small quantity to hot water and steep for 5–10 minutes. Strain before serving, or blend with lemongrass, ginger, mint, citrus peel, honey, or other mild ingredients.
