Jericho Rose (Kaff Maryam) - Anastatica Hierochuntica

Also known as: Rose of Jericho, Kaff Maryam (Hand of Mary), Resurrection Plant, Maryam’s Flower, Desert Rose.

Scientific name: Anastatica hierochuntica (A small, gray prostrate herb native to the arid deserts of the Middle East and North Africa).

What it’s known for: Its "Resurrection" ability. This fascinating botanical can survive for years in a dormant, curled-up brown ball and "miraculously" unfurl into a green fern-like plant within hours of being placed in water.

How to use: Place the dried, dormant ball in a shallow bowl of clean water. Watch as it gradually opens over 4–24 hours. The water used for this "awakening" is traditionally kept for its botanical essence.
