• Scientific Name: Rosa rugosa Thunb. Red Rose Buds are compact dried flower buds with naturally layered petals, green sepals and deep red, crimson, burgundy and rose-pink colouring.
• Also Known As: Rose Buds, Dried Rose Buds, Rugosa Rose Buds, Gulab Kali, Mei Gui Hua, Mei Gui Hua Lei, Ward Ahmar and Red Rose Flowers.
• What It’s Known For: Aromatic flower buds with a sweet floral, honeyed, lightly fruity, gently green and mildly astringent character. Commonly prepared as a flower infusion or blended with black tea, green tea, white tea, hibiscus, chamomile, mint and citrus peel.
• How to Use: Add approximately 3–5 Red Rose Buds to 200–250 ml of hot water. Cover and steep for 5–7 minutes, then strain. The buds may also be gently separated and used in tea blends, desserts, syrups, baking and decorative culinary preparations.
