Traditional culinary use of the oil: Popular in West Asia, Pakistan & Northern India—used for pickling, and (after aging to reduce acridity) as a salad/cooking oil.

Other global use: Eruca sativa is also studied/used as an industrial oilseed crop (e.g., lubricant/biodiesel interest).
