Lotus Seed Plumule (Lian Zi Xin) – Dried Lotus Seed Embryo

Lotus Seed Plumule is the dried green embryo found inside lotus seeds, sourced from Nelumbo nucifera.

Known as Lian Zi Xin, it is valued for its distinct bitter character and is commonly prepared as a tea-style infusion by steeping in hot water. Because the taste is naturally strong and bitter (it’s often removed from lotus seeds for this reason), a small quantity is enough for a balanced cup.
